Where It All Begin

A bunch of my stories and milestones in IT field

June 2022
The Beginning
It all started with the fear of being left behind when I was about to enter college. I had little knowledge about the field I had chosen, and I thought that everyone had at least started exploring this 'world' back in high school. Later, I bought some e-book tutorials on HTML and CSS and started grinding.
September 2022
Entering Informatics Major
I started studying Informatics at the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta. The classes gave me a solid foundation as a beginner, while also making me realize how much more there was to explore. I spent my first year mostly adapting to college life, meeting new people, and building my technical foundation.
October 2023
Second year in Informatics Major
My second year was a period of 'friendship peak moments' that gave meaningful experiences outside the classroom. I spent a lot of time with friends, traveled to different places, and built relationships that became an unforgettable part of my college journey. While I wasn't as focused on technical growth during this period, these experiences taught me the importance of balance and made my college years more memorable.
May 2024
Third year in Informatics Major
At this point, I suddenly 'woke up' and started to lock in. I explored various areas of software development, including native PHP, MVC architecture, Laravel, JavaScript, React, Tailwind CSS, and Next.js. I also learned about Agile-Scrum method like requirements gathering and project roles from the class, although my groups and I were too lazy to implement the theories and just brute-forced everything :D. Alongside software development, I explored data cleaning, analysis, and machine learning.
February 2025
PT. GIT Solution Intern
I interned at PT. GIT Solution as a Machine Learning intern. During this opportunity, I learned more from professionals about the data-related field: data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, dealing with imbalanced data, modeling, and more. In the end, I built my capstone project and presented it in front of the professionals.
October 2025
Final Projects (Thesis)
I think this was my most current challenging project, and I'm proud of the effort I put into it and the product I built. I worked on implementing and evaluating a deep-learning-based text retrieval system for public company governance assessment. I got an A for it.
February 2026
End-game college life
After years experiencing many moments and exploring different IT areas, I started reflecting on the direction I wanted to take professionally. I discovered (or maybe realized) my specific interest in this field: Software Engineering. For years I had been swept away by the current, switching focus to data, I realized that what had caught me on my first sight on IT field was software engineering. I'm fully aware that I still have a very lot to learn, but I genuinely enjoy the process of growing day by day and I'm sure that someday I'll become the person I want to be.
